VIDEO: Travel #30 – Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum, Munich
The Deutsche Museum Verkehrszentrum (Transport) is a part of the Munich science museum.
The Munich science museum is split into 3 parts, the main, air travel and transport. The Verkehrszentrum (Transport; cars, trains, motorbikes) is found near the place where the Oktoberfest area. This is not far from the main station in a south-west-westerly direction. There is an U-Bahn from the main station. Take either U4 or U5 and take the station “Schwanthalerhöhe”.
- (The other 2 parts are: The main museum is found on an island in the river Isar between “Isartor” and “Rosenheimer Platz”. To get there take an S-Bahn to Isartor. The third the “air” or “flight” part is found in the north near “Schleißheim”)
I visited in 2005 according to the dates on the images. But they may be wrong. So things will have changed. However the website seems to have similar images to those I took and I would expect it to have been renovated and had more vehicles added to their collection.
I enjoyed it and the vehicles were presented with space and clear unobstructed view. This was super for both enjoying the exhibits and also photography.
I would recommend it if you are into vehicles and the website below has details and prices. You can buy combination tickets to see all three of the museums and the price is reduced compared with the single entry prices.
