VIDEO: Travel #32 – West Park, Munich, Germany.

Munich West Park is a former Garden show grounds that has been turned into a park for the local residents. Remnants of the garden show event are still there. A Japanese garden, various pagodas from Thailand, China and Nepal and many of the flower beds and rose garden can still be seen.

On one visit, in the summer, several hundred people were having an open air “aerobics” class on one of the extensive lawns. The lake, whilst small, has many diverse birds including migrant geese.

It is an interesting location and would lend itself to model photography, especially the Japanese water garden area. There are joggers, BBQ areas and several other places that would be suitable for street photography. Unfortunately I never did any while I was here… 🙁 I will return and do some in spring/summer when there is more active use by sporty people.

At the end of the video is a map and directions and details of the restaurant.

Most, if not all the images where taken with the Nikon D5200 and the DX 18-105 kit lens, I think many with my B+H pol filter.

Enjoy
Alex.,
