VIDEO: Travel #33 – Falaise, Normandy, France.

Falaise is a small rather unassuming town in Normandy France, today. But this was not always the case.

This was the birthplace of William the conquerer, of 1066 fame and all that…

The castle has been restored from dereliction and now houses a museum, and what a museum! There are interactive video tablets that even show the rooms and superimpose the “look and feel”.

We stayed:
We stayed at a Gîte outside a small village a few km from Falaise. We were lucky it had 4 double bedrooms and one was located on the ground floor with a bathroom fully fitted for disabled or people with limited mobility. (Walk-in ground level shower, hand rails etc.,)

The countryside in the area is all so relaxing and laid back.

Anyone wanting information on the Gîte let me know and I’ll try and track down the info. The owners only spoke French so that could be a problem for some. Lucky for me, Karen speaks French.

enjoy
Alex.,
