Munich West Park is a former Garden show grounds that has been turned into a park for the local residents. Remnants of the garden show event are still there. A Japanese garden, various pagodas from Thailand, China and Nepal and many of the flower beds and rose garden can still be seen.
Sometimes interesting photographic opportunities are just outside our front door. This album is a combination of two local walks in winter and gives some idea of the landscape to visitors.
Similar to the collection of old farm buildings at Amerang, this is a smaller but different collection. It is a bit more open and less full of buildings. Nonetheless the collection is impressive and the opportunities are interesting. Freising is a town North East of Munich and is on the local public transport train system (S-Bahn). The zoo is very easy for photography. The aquarium is underground and the room for the people has very low lighting, this causes very little reflection on the glass. The tropical plants house has “free range lizards” that catch bugs, which means that there is no glass or fence between the lens and the animal.
An old monastery that is now owned and operated by the Bavarian Government. Quite out in the sticks, but the walk around the lake and the scenes are typical Bavarian; relaxed and calming. In early November 2016 got a day out in Munich. Weather was wet and 'orrid! These are some of the pictures taken over a 3 hour saunter through the shopping area. All the shots were hand held, even the blurred movement shots.
