I was (as I still am) going through all my millions of pictures trying to get organised and realised my “practicing” on insects was a real help with street photography.
I think we get trapped into thinking that to practice street photography we must do street photography. As I pointed out in my video about concert photography so much is similar.
Timing, observing and preparation are common to many photographic genres.
The compositions that we find attractive, the positioning of objects and the removing clutter from the frame are as valid for one as they are for the other… as of course is the importance of timing!
